Phoenix Integration

Phoenix Integration is involved in the Blacksburg Team in Training program to support fundraising for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

The Blacksburg Team in Training is a group of athletes working to raise funds for Leukemia and Lymphoma research. While training for endurance events such as marathons and triathlons, team members raise funds to support key research to find a cure.

Participants from the New River Valley attended 5 major races in 2002, raising over $35,000. The program nationally raises over $90M for research into Leukemia and Lymphomas.

Participants at the Virginia Beach Half Marathon participated during Labor Day weekend in the rain. This race pulled together runners and walkers and had over 140 Virginia races.

In October 2002, the Blacksburg TNT group sent 6 runners to the Marine Corp Marathon in Washington DC.

Phoenix Integration volunteers helped coach and coordinate local training events. The Huckleberry Trail is used extensively and facilities within the park are leveraged to provide an excellent training resource for local runners. In addition, the Weight Club, located at the VTCRC donates "Treadmill time" for participants in inclement weather.
